This is the section where we would like to say a big thank you to the sponsors and friends who have helped out with the show over the past few years and in many cases continue to offer their much valued support.
In no particular order: -
Southsea Leisure Services - Thanks to David Evans (Seafront manager) and Sheilagh Wheatland for their assistance over the years and for continuing to allow us to make use of a great space which is Southsea Common. If you would like to contact Southsea Leisure Services about your event idea then feel free to telephone them on: (023) 9282 8112.
PKW (Portsmouth Kleiner Wagen) – A massive thanks to Bungle, his lovely lady friend Jane and the rest of the local Portsmouth club for running the official BeachBuggin’ / PKW campsite at Horndean and the cruise to the show on the Sunday morning. By all accounts both the camping and the cruise are a great part of the weekend and really help set people up for the show itself. We only wish we could be around to see the convoy coming through Portsmouth… Apparently it’s a sight to behold.
Custom & Commercial - Justin and his team have kindly supported BeachBuggin' from the start and as the show has grown so have they. Custom & Commercial specialise in high quality re-production and re-furbished air-cooled parts and trim and have recently set up a restoration side to their business as well. You may also be interested to know that Custom & Commercial will be our main sponsor for BeachBuggin's 'Online Show'n'Shine' competition where each months overall high vote winner will receive a £20 voucher to spend at their stall or at their website shop!
Peter Cooper VW (Portsmouth) - If you're into water cooled VW's then Peter Cooper VW (Portsmouth) should be able to meet your needs. Not only are they one of the south coasts main VW dealerships but they are also a main sponsor of BeachBuggin' Show'n'Shine trophies and shields. Thanks go to Chris Godfroy at Peter Cooper for his continued support and for attending the show with the latest V-Dub models. If you're looking to buy a new water cooler then these guys would be a good place to start.
German, Swedish & French – Thanks again go out to Matt Kane and his colleagues from our local South coast branches of GSF. Every year they generously supply a great prize for our overall Judges Choice Show 'n' Shine winner as well as come along on the day to join in the fun and trade their wares.
Paul (Pose) and Chris - Our Show 'n' Shine judges who continue to be on the button when it comes to picking out the hottest cars each year. Both herald from one of the soundest V-dub clubs on the south coast club - 'Spirit of Air'. They would welcome speaking to anyone about Spirit of Air club or the cool show they got started in 2005 over at Wareham in Dorset.
Throwdown Crew – These guys and girls did a sterling job of entertaining us all last year with their crazy moves and funky tunes. Thankfully they enjoyed the show enough to want to come back and do it all again this year and we’re looking forward to it already!
Eastpak - Although sadly due to other project commitments Eastpak won't be attending BeachBuggin' this year, we would just like to thank Nick Street and his team of riders for their support in bringing their cool BMX and Skate display to previous BeachBuggin' shows and for providing some nice freebies to give to you guys and girls.
The WDCS (Whale & Dolphin Conservation Society) - We hope that you will be able to show some support and generosity to BeachBuggin's charity of choice. The WDCS will again be in attendance at this years show however if you would like to find out more about this incredibly worthwhile charitable organisation before the show and maybe support what they do as well, then visit their website from the links page of this website www.wdcs.org.
Roger Arnold - A regular at BeachBuggin' and one time Show 'n' Shine winner, Roger writes reviews for Volksworld and has contributed a lot of the photo's that you see in the photo's section. You can read Rogers reviews in the 2003, 2004 and 2005 shows section.
Also Mr. Mick Booth for being a general all round good bloke, show photographer and helper to the last and The Bedford Boys (Jimmy and Dan AKA The Patina Police) for helping out and letting us use their wicked Split pick-ups as the BeachBuggin’ stand.
V-Dub clubs and friends - All of the Clubs and friends who have got stuck in and helped out in one way or another either by handing out flyers, helping to steward or just bigging up the show.
V-dub public - We'd like to thank those of you who have visited the show in previous years or are thinking about visiting the show this time around. It's a cliché but the show just wouldn't happen without out you and we're grateful that you are just willing to come along and enjoy yourself helping to give BeachBuggin' the relaxed atmosphere everyone seems to like and appreciate.
Many thanks to everyone above from Jim and Rich (BeachBuggin's very grateful co-organisers).
