Ahhh Southsea, acres and acres of open grassy Common by the sea. This is more like it. I mean, OK so the beach isn't quite the same as Bournemouth but the location is sooo much better at playing host for Beachbuggin'. This venue helped to make the show feel more like a show as it offered plenty of space and a far more understanding council who had no problem with us organising a swapmeet.
This year also saw the first appearance of the now well-known Beachbuggin' oval logo. It took us three years to come up with (that's pretty fast work for Jim) but the result was worth waiting for. 2002 was also the first year that our friends at Testament Clothing and Peter Cooper (VW) Portsmouth sponsored the show, relationships that have been growing ever since ...
With the added space it was also possible to set aside specific areas for clubs to park up and display their Dubs. This is one of the main parts of the show that has continued to grow steadily in popularity and we thank all of those clubs who now regularly come along to help make the show the success that it is! If you would like to set aside a space for your V-Dub club at the next BeachBuggin' show then click here. If you'd like to hook up with any of the clubs who currently attend BeachBuggin' you can find links to their official / associated websites on the BeachBuggin' links page.
... and we'll show it here
