Having filled our allotted space at Boscombe Pier in 2000 we managed to persuade Bournemouth Council to allow us to hold the show at Bournemouth's Pier approach in 2001. This was a much better location for the event with a nice space for a show 'n' shine and much more to offer show visitors. Unfortunately however, Bournemouth Council refused to let us have a swapmeet, they said something about "not getting rusty old beetle bits all over the seafront" - (they just didn't get the attraction).
We still had a great day anyway, and in keeping with our beach lifestyle theme we had 300 BeachBuggin' printed Frisbees and gave them away to those who came along. Towards the middle of the day it was a fantastic sight to look back from Bournemouth pier and witness a row of colourful and cool V-Dubs lining the seafront as far as the eye could see. The terrace of the Hot-Rocks surf café (one of our event sponsors that year) provided the perfect viewing platform for overlooking all the show cars and helped to top off another show with a very relaxed atmosphere.
... and we'll show it here
